MISSION & VISION

Vision for Israel is a non-profit, charitable organization established to help rebuild the nation of Israel, both physically and spiritually.

Since 1996, our humanitarian relief center, The Joseph Storehouse, has been a source of emergency assistance for the entire community of Israel; whether Jewish, Arab or Christian. We desire to be a channel of mercy, freely distributing emergency medical equipment, food, toiletries, blankets, clothing and other necessities.

We serve both those living under Israel's "poverty line" and also bring relief to the general population in times of crisis. Each week we assist Israel's most vulnerable citizens: orphans and widows, the homeless and handicapped, the elderly, new immigrants and victims of terrorism and their families.

We invite you to become part of the blessing today. Please click here for exciting opportunities to truly help the people of Israel.

HISTORY

In February of 1996, the Segal family was touched by the pain that touches far too many Israelis. Right before Passover, Barry and Batya's oldest daughter lost three teenage friends in a bus attacked by a Hamas suicide bomber. Then, less than two weeks later, another one of her friends was murdered when a Hamas terrorist blew up a different bus. These were buses their daughter took each week.

Since that Passover in 1996, each year Vision for Israel has assisted hundreds of families  torn apart by terrorism. In 1996 the first Joseph Storehouse was opened as an international non-profit humanitarian aid center operating in the Judean Hills just outside of Jerusalem.  Through The Joseph StorehouseVision for Israel assissts two hundred families of terror victims each year, around 2,400 in the last twelve years. Vision for Israel also distributed aid to victims of rocket attacks during the Second Lebanon War and the war in Gaza. The Joseph Storehouse also supplies essential humanitarian aid to impoverished Israelis and to organizations desperately in need of many important supplies.

FOUNDERS & STAFF

Batya Segal, Co-founder of Vision for Israel & The Joseph Storehouse, first became internationally recognized for the rich worship music that she and her husband Barry Segal pioneered together. Batya was born in Jerusalem to an Orthodox Jewish Yemenite family and she has infused the rich sounds of her heritage into her music along with the faith kindled in her after a profound experience of encounter with the Messiah Yeshua. Batya, as a song writer and Barry as a musician, soon became well known through their Messianic music and teaching. Barry and Batya now have a number of CD's and DVD's including Sh'ma Yisrael, Go Through the Gates, Adonai and Timeless Sounds (available at www.greetingsfromjerusalem.com).

In 1996 Batya and Barry were called to start a humanitarian aid center, The Joseph Storehouse, to provide help and support for victims of terrorism and their families, as well as the poor and needy people of Israel, both Jewish and Arab. The work soon grew into one of Israel's essential humanitarian aid operations. And Batya has overseen humanitarian actions not just in Israel but all around the world including after the tsunami in Sri Lanka, after hurricanes hit in Louisiana and Texas, as well as aid to Romania, Hungary, England, Russia and Moldova.

Barry Segal, in addition to being the Co-founder of Vision for Israel & The Joseph Storehouse, is well known as a musician and international Bible speaker. He is also an author and the host and producer of the television series “Roots & Reflections.

Barry grew up in the USA and discovered Yeshua (Jesus) when he was a young musician living a colorful lifestyle in Detroit and Cleveland. For a Jewish person to become a believer is always challenging, leading to potential rejection from family and friends. After leading worship music and a fellowship in America for several years, as well as being a TV producer, Barry made aliyah, and moved to live in Israel, where he married Batya. Together they formed and founded Vision for Israel in 1994.

Barry is also the congregational leader of the Moriah Gatherings in the United Kingdom, fellowships of Jews and Gentiles sharing a deep and abiding connection to the Land and People of Israel.

STATEMENT IN FAITH

We believe with faith:

  • In the One and Only Living G-d, eternally existing as Abba (Father), Ben (Son), and Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). He is the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is One G-d. As it is written "Sh'ma Yisrael, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad" ~ "Hear, O Israel, the L-rd our G-d, the L-rd is One."
  • That, according to the Scriptures, Yeshua (Jesus) was born of a virgin. He is the promised Messiah of Israel and the Redeemer of the entire human race. By His obedient life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection, He fulfilled the prophecies in the Tanach (Pentateuch, the Prophets, and the Writings) that speak of Messiah's first coming. According to the Scriptures, He will also return. Yeshua is Dvar HaShem (the Word of G-d), the Divine Messiah, the fullness of G-d in bodily form.
  • In the work and presence of the Ruach HaKodesh. He brings forth the fruit of righteousness in the lives of all followers of Messiah. The Ruach HaKodesh also distributes gifts that lead to the building up and unity (echad) of the Body of Believers.
  • That G-d created man in His own image, endowing him with a longing for intimate fellowship with Himself.
  • That man's disobedience (sin) to G-d's revealed will cause a separating between G-d and man that leads to death.
  • That the ONLY provision G-d made for reconciling man to Himself is the atoning work of Yeshua. The blood that poured out from His body while He hung on the execution stake became an offering for sin. The Father, as evidenced by Yeshua's bodily resurrection from the grave, accepted the sacrifice.
  • That all who repent from sin and accept G-d's salvation through Messiah are born from above (born again). Salvation is a free gift from G-d, by His chesed (grace), and is received by trusting (having faith) in Yeshua's atoning work.
  • In tevilah (immersion) of believers, as commanded by the Scriptures, which symbolizes the death of the "old" person and the rebirth into newness of life.
  • That those who have placed their trust in Yeshua as Adonai (L-rd) are born from above. They are born into the family of G-d, the Body of Messiah. This family includes both Jews and non-Jews. Non-Jews, being "wild branches", who have been grafted into "the good olive tree," along with Jews, being "the natural branches", who have received the promise of the G-d of their fathers.
  • That the Bible, both the Tanach and the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant Scriptures), is the only inspired, authoritative Word of G-d, which is man's true foundation of faith, conduct, and eternal life.
  • That G-d gave the Torah (Pentateuch) for moral instruction and righteous living for all generations and reveals G-d's plan of salvation. Yeshua did not come to destroy Torah, but to establish and fulfill it.
  • That G-d chose Israel to be a blessing to all nations. The day will come when Israel, as a nation, will accept Messiah Yeshua, as it is written, "...and they will look upon Me whom they have pierced." Yeshua will return bodily, according to the Scriptures, and the Word of G-d will then go forth from Zion to establish His worldwide rule from Jerusalem. Our peoples' return to Eretz Yisrael is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.
  • In the unity of all believers in Yeshua of Messiah. As followers of Yeshua and as part of the nation of Israel, we embrace our Biblical and cultural Jewish heritage. This is our identify - a witness to the faithfulness of G-d.
